![]() ![]() All are carried so very much by their writing, and so is this game. Former is a frankly rather tedious browser game, the latter two are ungainly attempts to merge roguelikes into a game with a lot of non-repeating stories for some extremely bizarre reason. I've played a fair bit of Alexis' earlier works and their descendants, Fallen London and both of the Sunless X games. However, despite the magnitude of hate or tedious frustration this game can incur on the player, it will always have a far more disappointing and anticlimactic half-paragraph of text ready as a reward. I know it's seemingly deep themes suggest that there is some takeaway, or other form of entertaining reward, that would make this title seem worthwhile. I spent 24 hours of game time attempting to derive pleasure from this title. ![]() Move cards from one stack to the next as you mindlessly attempt to avoid the death/crisis of your player character, who manages to have either an existential episode worthy of suicide weekly, or the decaying health and bones of a man recently and simultaneously exposed to rabies and the mouth of an active volcano. ![]() Do you like a steep learning curve? Do you want the most reward you get for that learning curve to be a vaguely cynical, half-paragraph of text? Look no further. Tarot cards, Go Fish and depressing Sims meet in this underwhelming card game. ![]()
